Junny.ca was started to give native people in the Atlantic region a new choice in garment wear. Garment wear that have naive mindset brought to it’s designs. Natives have a different way of looking at things, all things in life. Junny.ca will be taking common saying from the powwow circuit and rez lifestyle, pop culture, console games and yes… pride of the people.
It is junny.ca’s intent to give native people another way to express themselves. To show their humour without saying a word. Eventually junny.ca will expand it’s inventory beyond t-shirts. But all that will come in time.
About the logo/slogan
Junny.ca’s logo makes use of some Mi’kmaq hieroglyphics, taken from the “Mi’kmaq Hieroglyphics Prayer Book” pages XX and XX. Mise’l believes it’s saying, “kenskaptmnenu ktelukew” or “to lose sight of work”. PLEASE correct me for the Mi’kmaq spelling, I have a hard enough time with english. This represents junny.ca’s philosophy/slogan. We all have to earn our way through life, in one form or another. So in Mise’l’s form of earning his way, he wishes to make it something enjoyable, somewhat educational and fulfilling in some way. Mise’l believes true retirement, is finding something you want to do for the rest of your life. He believes this his best chance in enjoying life and earning it.
